TEMPE, Ariz. — Two boys were seen on home surveillance video being blown over a 10-foot wall while playing on a trampoline in Tempe, Arizona.
KPHO reported that Gavin Reynolds, 11, was playing on his trampoline with his friend Rhode Hill, 11, in his backyard over Memorial Day weekend. As wind gusts came through, the trampoline flipped, sending the children over a brick wall.
“We felt (the wind gust),” Rhode said. “We felt it literally going over a wall.”
Rhode was badly injured when he landed about 15 feet away, KPNX reported. He fractured his elbow and pelvis, KPHO reported. Gavin walked away with bruises.
"I remember making sure Rhode was OK and thinking in my head that I had to get up and get my dad," Gavin told KPNX.
Ryan Reynolds, Gavin’s father, said it was the first time the trampoline blew over.
“Big lesson here: Just tie down your trampoline,” he said. “You never know what could happen.”
The boys say they’ll be back on a trampoline as long as it stays on the ground.
