MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — Wildlife officials are searching for a red-tailed hawk with an arrow piercing its body that was photographed perched on a utility wire recently in Morgan County, Alabama.
The red-tailed hawk is a federally protected species under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which makes it illegal to pursue, hunt, capture or kill the bird without a legal waiver.
