NEW YORK — The question posed in the theme song "Sunny Days" in each episode -- "Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?" -- now has an answer.
The city renamed the intersection of West 63rd Street and Broadway Avenue Wednesday for "Sesame Street" in honor of the long-running children's television show's 50th anniversary. The intersection is near the show's offices.

"Fifty years of making people's lives better," Mayor Bill de Blasio said at the unveiling, WNBC reported. "Fifty years of having people believe in themselves."

“Sesame Street” characters including Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Elmo joined De Blasio and City Councilwoman Helen Rosenthal at the renaming ceremony.

This is the second time the city renamed a street to honor the show. In 2009, leaders temporarily changed the name of a street in honor of the show's 40th anniversary, WNBC reported.
