SAVANNAH, Ga. — Two women were arrested after allegedly selling edible marijuana food items at a church event in Savannah, Georgia.
Undercover agents from the Savannah-Chatham Counter Narcotics Team on Friday bought marijuana/THC edibles during an event for local entrepreneurs at the church, according to the agency's post on Facebook.
Ebony Cooper, 28, of Savannah, was openly selling the edibles as well as other items, according to agents who bought several edibles and kept Cooper under surveillance.
Agents followed Cooper and 26-year-old Leah Pressley of Savannah to a location away from the church, according to the report.
They said their search of Pressley’s vehicle turned up a large amount of edibles, more than $1,000 in cash and a loaded gun, which agents believed Cooper had on her while selling the items on church property.
Cooper and Pressley are facing felony drug charges and are in the Chatham County Detention Center. Agents don’t think Pressley took part in the edible sales on the church property.

The event was hosted by an outside vendor, and the church wasn’t aware of any illegal activities occurring on its property, according to investigators.
Cooper was actively advertising her edibles on various social media sites, agents said.
