THURSDAY: 9 investigates deadly, hidden dangers of keyless ignition

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More and more new vehicles are being built with keyless ignitions.

Drivers push a button and the vehicle starts, nice and easy.

But it can be easy to forget the vehicle is on even in drivers are in their garage.

Action 9 investigator Jason Stoogenke found cases in the Charlotte area where that proved to be deadly.

"It didn't occur to me that I would lose my dad this way," said a family member of a victim.

Watch Stoogenke's story Thursday at 5:45 p.m.
