EASLEY, S.C. (AP) — A second 3-year-old South Carolina boy has died after falling into a backyard swimming pool with his twin brother near Easley.
Anderson County Deputy Coroner Don McCown said Ezekiel Marcengill of Westminster died Sunday afternoon at a Greenville hospital. McCown says his brother, Caleb Marcengill, died Saturday afternoon shortly after he fell into the water.
The deaths have been ruled accidental drownings.
The coroner says the boys and their family were attending a gathering Saturday and a group of children went outside to play after lunch.
Emergency personnel were called shortly before 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The coroner says he thinks the boys were in the water for 15 to 20 minutes.
