Prisoners at FCI Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.V. — Federal Correction Institute Morgantown houses 1,122 inmates.

The following are notable inmates that have spent time in the facility:

Former MetLife Insurance broker Kevin Dunn pleaded guilty to a high-profile fraud case relating to Sept. 11. Dunn was accused of stealing $250,000 from a settlement received by the widow of Port Authority police Officer Christopher Amoroso. He was released in February 2012.

Gary May, former superintendent at the Massey Energy Company coal mine, was sentenced to 21 months at FCI Morgantown. May pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the U.S. government by impeding federal inspections. An explosion at the coal mine in 2010 killed 29 miners. He was released in September 2014.

Bob Ney

, Republican representative of Ohio, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and making false statements involving lobbyist Jack Abramoff. The Justice Department and Ney's lawyers agreed on a sentencing recommendation of 27 months in prison. He was released in August 2008.

Matthew Kluger

, a mergers and acquisitions lawyer, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his involvement in an inside trading scheme. His sentence was the longest insider-trading term in U.S. history. His release is scheduled for February 2023.
