Police Arrest 3 Suspects In Shooting At Charlotte Motel

CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested three suspects they believe are involved in an overnight shooting at a hotel in North Charlotte.

Homicide Detectives were investigating the incident, but police said the shooting left one person dead and another person injured.

It happened at the Budget Inn at 4330 Old Interstate Road at about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. North Tryon Division officers responded to the call at about 1:37 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a victim lying in the hallway suffering from a gunshot wound. That victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses said two black men were last seen running across the parking lot and got into a black or dark colored Toyota Camry.

Police broadcast the description of the vehicle to neighboring districts. University City Division officers located the vehicle on Harris Boulevard.

After a brief pursuit, the suspect vehicle crashed in the area around Harris Boulevard and Old Statesville Road.

Officers arrested three suspects. They believe the suspects and the victims knew each other.

The name of the deceased victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

There was no immediate no word on the condition of the second victim.
