CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Long-time NFL kicker John Kasay announced his retirement Tuesday as a member of the Carolina Panthers, team officials said.
Kasay, 43, played with the Panthers from 1995 until 2010.
He holds team records for games played, points scored and field goals made, according to team officials.
The team held a retirement reception at Bank of America Stadium Tuesday afternoon.
Kasay signed with the New Orleans Saints in 2011.
He was originally drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in 1991 before signing with the Panthers in 1995.
Kasay was a Pro Bowl selection in 1996 when he broke the single-season record with 37 made field goals.
