CHARLOTTE, N.C.,None — The trial for a teenager accused of raping an elderly woman continued on Thursday.
Robert McFadden did little in court as prosecutors continued to build their case against him.
The now 18-year-old is accused of raping an 83-year-old woman last year.
On Thursday, the first officer to arrive at the crime scene took the stand, describing what the elderly woman initially told police.
"She said, ‘That little…' and then she used the n-word (and said), ‘(He) told me if I didn't have sex with him, he'd kill me,'" Officer Adelaide Dimmitt said.
The 83-year-old said the teen raped her in her home while wearing a condom. Prosecutors then had one of the crime scene investigators show the jury the condom wrapper left at the scene.
After a break, a different officer gave her account of showing the victim a photo lineup, during which the 83-year-old identified the suspect.
"I recall her holding the photograph, pointing at it over and over, saying, 'That's him. That's him right there,'" Officer J.L. Cummings said.
Late in the day, another elderly woman McFadden is accused of attacking took the stand. McFadden's attorney argued the jury should not be allowed to hear her story, but the judge allowed it.
The trial continues on Friday.
