Police: Boyfriend confessed to killing Hope Mills teen

HOPE MILLS, N.C. — Police confirmed a body found in a river in Cumberland County is Danielle Locklear.

The teenager's boyfriend confessed to choking her and killing her after an argument.

He and another teen were both in custody Tuesday night.

Locklear left her grandparents' home in Hope Mills nearly a month ago to visit a friend, but never arrived.

Her grandfather called police the next day.

Deputies discovered the body in the South River Wednesday.
