CHARLOTTE , N.C. — Charlotte area viewers will be greeted by a new morning television news team as they wake up for breaking news, weather and traffic on WSOC-TV and WAXN-TV, TV64.
Anchors Allison Latos and Peter Daut will co-anchor Eyewitness News Daybreak on Channel 9 WSOC-TV weekday mornings from 4:30am-7am and Eyewitness News This Morning on TV64 WAXN-TV weekday mornings from 7am-9am.
TV64 viewers are already familiar with Allison Latos who has been anchoring Eyewitness News This Morning since June of last year. Latos will also continue her reporting duties. Latos recently joined the Eyewitness News team from WTOV-TV in Steubenville, Ohio. Latos said "This new opportunity is wonderful. I really have grown to love Charlotte. It will be great to expand my role and still continue to report."
Peter Daut is joining the Eyewitness News team as the co-anchor for the morning newscasts. Daut is an Emmy award winning reporter from Dallas, Texas and will start on-air in March. Daut said, "I'm honored and excited to be joining the leading news team in Charlotte."
Current morning anchor Scott Wickersham will anchor the 5:30pm newscast with Natalie Pasquarella on Channel 9 WSOC-TV. Wickersham will also continue to provide regular Whistleblower 9 investigative reports.
"This move allows our anchors to be more actively involved in investigative reporting, which only benefits the viewer," said News Director Julie Szulczewski.
