DEEP GAP, N.C.,None — A father and son in Watauga County are accused of having a meth lab inside their home.
Deputies said they found some of the ingredients for the lab hidden inside a chicken coop.
John Hicks and John Hicks Jr. are charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and maintaining a residence to make the drug.
Deputies said they found a lab inside their home near Deep Gap where they also discovered a large duffel bag filled with precursors (chemicals), hoses and breakers used to make the meth.
Deputies said the case led to several other arrests.
Both men are in jail with bail set at $200,000 each and are due in court in February.
