CHARLOTTE — Starting Monday, select North Carolina Publix pharmacies will open COVID-19 vaccine appointments.
Vaccinations will be provided to people 18 and older.

Publix pharmacies in Buncombe, Cabarrus, Catawba, Forsyth, Gaston, Guilford, Haywood, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Wake and Watauga counties will open up appointments for the Moderna vaccine.

Health officials in the state said the move is an effort to expand accessibility to the vaccine.
Appointments opened on April 12, at 7 a.m. for slots on Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18.
