CHARLOTTE — Construction kicked off this week for South End’s latest office tower.
Developers Stiles Corp. and Shorestein celebrated the groundbreaking of 110 East, a 370,000-square-foot tower next to the East/West Station on the Lynx Blue Line. The $186 million project is expected to deliver in the first quarter of 2024. The joint venture purchased the 2-acre site in 2019 for $21.5 million, the Charlotte Business Journal previously reported.
The 23-story office building will have a jump lobby, 6,000 square feet of ground-level retail and tenant amenities on the 11th floor that include a sky lounge, terrace, fitness center and conference space.
Although 110 East will have a parking garage with 900 spaces, the development will likely rely on its proximity to the light-rail station to stand out for potential tenants.
“One of the unique features here is that the entrance to the building will be right off the light-rail platform,” said David Dorsch of Cushman & Wakefield. “There’s really no other building that has direct access from the light rail to the building.”
