CHARLOTTE — Two parents asked Action 9′s Jason Stoogenke if they would get stimulus money for their babies born in 2020.

It’s just one of the questions a few other friends have been asking, too and that’s why I wanted to reach out,” Jeff Witt told Stoogenke.

They were worried because the IRS based both rounds of stimulus checks on 2019 taxes, so the agency doesn’t know if they had a child since then.

[Many say they still haven’t received ‘first’ stimulus check]

People are entitled to $500 for the first round and $600 for the second round, that totals $1,100 for your child.

The same goes for those who adopted a child in 2020.

“I’ve had a great support system, but that money would help me and my son out a whole lot,” Jarrell Randson said. “And this is where I’m trying to make sure he’s OK. This is more so not for me. This is all for him.”

“I worked at the Spectrum Center and got furloughed, obviously, because there’s no sporting events and so, yeah, I can absolutely use the money,” Witt said.
