ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Gastonia-based Parkdale Mills Inc. is shutting down its plant in Rowan County this spring, laying off nearly 100 workers.
The yarn manufacturer is ceasing operations at Parkdale Plant 23 in Landis — about 34 miles northeast of Charlotte — “due to changing business conditions,” it said in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification, sent Tuesday to the N.C. Department of Commerce.
