WSOC-TV anchor Allison Latos wins NCAB Anchor of the Year

GREENSBORO, N.C. — WSOC-TV anchor Allison Latos was honored as 2014 Anchor of the Year by the North Carolinas Association of Broadcasters.

During a luncheon Tuesday at the annual convention in Greensboro, the NCAB choose Latos for her exceptional work as an anchor of the morning show and for her investigative reports.

Latos thanked the NCAB for the recognition. After hugging her husband, Latos said her first call was to her mom and dad.

"I am truly honored to receive this award and so proud to work at WSOC-TV where everyone has a teamwork attitude and passion for the job," Latos said.  "I feel blessed to be in the company of great co-workers who work hard on camera and behind the scenes every day."

Latos, who has been with Channel 9 since 2011, co-anchors Eyewitness News Daybreak on WSOC-TV and Eyewitness News This Morning on TV64.

Latos is a graduate of West Virginia University.
