CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police told Eyewitness News that a driver faces nine charges after he slammed into a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department cruiser overnight in uptown.
The crash happened around midnight near 8th and Davidson streets. Officers told Channel 9 that the driver, Rodarius Meaders, was going the wrong way.
Police arrested Meaders and charged him with several offenses, including having a firearm as a felon, having marijuana and driving without a license.
Officers told Eyewitness News that a passenger in the car ran from the scene.
The two officers in the patrol car were not seriously hurt, according to CMPD.
Channel 9 checked and found Meaders has been arrested 11 times in the past two years.
