IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Two women charged with assaulting a child with a disability worked at Iredell-Statesville Schools at the time of the alleged crime.
Statesville police arrested Dawn Golden and Joanne Hutton last week.
Police say Golden kicked the child’s feet, pushed him to the ground and stepped on his feet.
They say Hutton bent his hand or wrist backwards.
Court documents list both crimes happening in December, but doesn’t say where it happened or how they knew the child.
Iredell-Statesville Schools says both were placed on leave after the alleged crimes.
Both resigned in January.
