CORNELIUS, N.C. — A Cornelius woman living with stage 4 breast cancer is urging state leaders to revisit North Carolina’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution priority list.
Before the state’s adjustments to vaccinate people over the age of 65 and older, Adiba Barney was part of phase 2, group 2.
Now she and others like her are part of group 4.
If she contracts COVID-19 and the symptoms are mild, Barney said she’d have to get off her hospital treatments and risk the cancer spreading even more.
