HICKORY, N.C. — Police are looking for whoever fired gunshots into a Hickory home late Wednesday, injuring a woman and a teenager inside.
Around 10:40 p.m., Hickory police officers were called to the house on 3rd Avenue SE after learning that a woman had been shot. When they got to the scene, police found 59-year-old Penny Lee White inside the home. She had been shot in the head and leg.
The woman was taken to Catawba Valley Medical Center before being moved to Atrium Health in Charlotte, where she was listed in stable condition.
A 16-year-old boy was also shot, being hit in the arm, police said. He was treated by paramedics at the scene.
Investigators said both victims were inside the house when someone fired several rounds into the home while standing in the front yard.

No suspect information has been released.
