CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman was sexually assaulted after a man broke into her home Saturday night, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report said.
It happened at a home along McKenzie Creek Drive off McKee Road in south Charlotte.

Police said the 33-year-old woman said a man she didn’t know broke into her home, forced her into a bedroom and sexually assaulted her.
Officers said the victim was taken to a hospital and released.
Neighbors told Channel 9 they hope police keep them informed and find the person responsible quickly.
CMPD has said rapes are up by about 13 percent so far this year.
No other details have been released.
