A woman told WFTV she is still waiting to be refunded the $12,000 she paid for a cruise that never happened.
“That is a huge chunk of change,” Brenda Meyett said. “Huge.”
Meyett says she feels double-crossed by Royal Caribbean and the travel company that booked her Panama Canal vacation to California two years ago.
COVID-19 canceled her cruise back then, and ever since then, she’s been waiting on her refund.

“And it wasn’t the cruise line’s fault that we couldn’t go. But still it’s no fault of mine that we didn’t go,” she said. “So I should be compensated for my funding.”
According to Meyett, Royal Caribbean at first offered future travel credits. But she didn’t want to cruise again while COVID was a health issue.
She said the cruise line did eventually agree to the refund. But months later, she still hasn’t gotten her $12,000.
