CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman was seriously injured after a tree came down on her apartment during Monday morning’s storm, MEDIC says.
It happened just after 4 a.m. on Countrymens Court, near South Boulevard and Park Road in south Charlotte.

“There were people in the apartment right there,” witness Art Jones said. “They were coming out, so I asked them to knock on the door to see if anyone was in there, if they were OK. When they knocked on the door, she started yelling.”
Channel 9′s Gina Esposito was on scene and said she could see several first responders such as police, MEDIC and firefighters. There was massive damage to the apartment building, where you could see inside the units.
Firefighters removed this wall to get to her.
The tree not only took out her apartment, it damaged three other units and some cars.
MEDIC took that person to the hospital with serious injuries.
No other information has been released.
