YORK COUNTY, S.C. — A man was killed Sunday afternoon when the car he was in crashed head-on with a drunken driver in York County, according to state troopers.
The crash happened on McConnells Highway, about 4 miles east of McConnells.
South Carolina state troopers said Tyler Cummings was driving drunk and slammed into a car in the opposite lane.
Troopers said a man in that car, 66-year-old Paul Kelly, was killed. At least two other people in that vehicle were injured and taken to the hospital.
Troopers said an infant and a toddler were also in the car but were not hurt.
Troopers charged Cummings with felony DWI resulting in great bodily injury.
