ALBEMARLE, N.C. — Police arrested a man Thursday morning who they said used gasoline to start a fire and burn a woman.
Howard Sutton III faces several charges, including felony attempted first-degree murder and felony assault with a deadly weapon.
Officers were called Monday night to a home on West Main Street on reports of a domestic dispute.
They found Kimberly Edwards suffering from second-and third-degree burns on her face and upper torso. She is recovering from her injuries.
Detectives south help from the community, and tips helped lead them Thursday morning to Sutton, who was found at a different address.
Sutton is being held at the Stanly County Jail on a $1 million bond. His next court date is Sept. 26.
