CONOVER, N.C. — Fire crews in Conover responded to a house fire around lunch time Friday.
Crews responded to the scene on 7th Street northeast to control a fire that destroyed a Conover home.
Investigators said they believe the fire started in the attic near where an HVAC crew was doing some work.
Firefighters controlled the flames and a woman and her dog made it out of the home safely.
