STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — A woman has been charged for a boating accident that killed a Stanly County man.
The incident happened around midnight Saturday on Badin Lake.

Authorities say a bass boat and a pontoon boat collided.
The operator of the bass boat was 57-year-old Ronald Huland Murphy from New London, N.C. Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Murphy had a passenger inside his boat who sustained minor injuries.
The operator of the pontoon boat was 62-year-old Denise Marie Sweeney from Greensboro, N.C.

Officials say Sweeney was charged with boating while impaired.
Sweeney had eight passengers on board. They sustained minor injuries.
