STATESVILLE — On Friday, Statesville police responded to King of the Sea restaurant after an attempted armed robbery call.
According to employees, an unknown woman with a pink scarf covering her face entered the restaurant. She was wearing a black dress. The woman approached the take-out counter and showed a black handgun concealed in her purse.
She told the employee to "give her all the money."
The employee screamed for help, causing the woman to flee the scene before taking any money.
A second employee followed the woman to her vehicle and watched her drive away in a white 1999 Isuzu Trooper with North Carolina tags.
