Woman accused of fatally stabbing niece on New Year’s Eve

CONCORD, N.C. — A woman has been accused of fatally stabbing her niece on New Year’s Eve, according to the Concord Police Department.

It occurred just after 12:45 a.m. on Coventry Commons Avenue.

Police said they received reports about a domestic disturbance between family members.

At the scene, police found a woman who had been stabbed to death.

Police said 41-year-old Sunsharay Coulbourne was arrested in connection with this incident. The victim is allegedly her niece.

Coulbourne has been charged with first-degree murder. She is being held at the Cabarrus County jail without bond, according to police.
