A witness who lives close by said they encountered about two dozen police cars on Cannon Boulevard and saw someone in handcuffs.
“We did see someone sitting on the pavement there under one of the police officers,” the witness said. “We did notice a large Chevy SUV, looked like a Tahoe or Suburban that was in the parking lot of the Shoe Show and there was a lot of officers surrounded around there.”
City officials sent a statement on Sunday saying police pulled over a car with multiple people inside, including one that was, “believed to have been wanted on outstanding warrants.”
However, the city didn’t say what happened or whether someone was shot.
“Me and my wife went online to find as much information as we could about it and noticed that a lot of the good information,” the witness said. “The transparent information was left out.”
Police have not identified the person who was shot or answered any other questions.
The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave while the SBI investigates.
