WINGATE, N.C. — Wingate University honored one of its longtime educators.
“It’s more than a job. It has always been more than a job,” said Dr. Sylvia Little-Sweat, a professor at Wingate.
Little-Sweat started teaching at Wingate in 1963 when she was 21 years old, and she is still teaching 60 years later.
The professor said the secret to her longevity is a passion for her subject, English, and a love for those who want to learn.
