Which NC employers are most liked by their workers?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — What do Lowe’s, Atrium Health and Truliant Federal Credit Union all have in common? According to a recently published ranking, it’s happy employees.

Forbes has released its first ranking of best employers by state, featuring 51 lists (including the District of Columbia) of companies where employees favorably reviewed their place of work.

The top of North Carolina’s list features some of the area giants you’d expect — SAS, Duke Energy, and Cisco Systems are the state’s top three — but also some unexpected workplaces such as Earth Fare, a health-conscious grocer, and The Biltmore Co., which operates the Biltmore Estate in Asheville.

Rankings were determined by how well employees liked their place of work, based on Forbes’ work with market-research firm Statista. A total of 67 North Carolina employers made the list. Check out the interactive feature here.
