CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A shortage of homes listed for sale has long been a common theme in the Charlotte market, like many parts of the country. And halfway through 2019, year-over-year inventory declines in the local housing market had crept back into the double-digit range.
The total inventory of existing homes for sale across the Charlotte region in June fell 14 percent. The 9,407 homes on the market — a drop of 1,528 homes from June 2018 — represented a 2.3-months’ supply of inventory, down from a 2.7-months’ supply in the previous year.
The good news? Charlotte’s inventory in June had increased by 684 homes since January, when there were 8,723 homes listed for sale.
This slideshow provides a snapshot into which parts of the greater Charlotte area boasted the highest gains in inventory stock in June, compared to the previous year, and where inventory remains extremely limited.
