CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As homebuyers across the country face higher home prices in an increasingly competitive market, North Carolina's two biggest metros rank among large cities with the best real estate markets, according to a new report by WalletHub.

The report compared 300 cities of various sizes on measures of affordability, job and population growth, and other factors to find the best locales to buy a home.
Charlotte comes in at No. 5 among large cities in the survey, with a score of 66.6 — good enough to come in at No. 22 in the overall ranking. Raleigh, with a score of 64.61, follows at No. 10 among large cities and No. 37 overall.
