CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte is among the metro areas with the poorest air quality in North Carolina, according to the latest data available from Environment North Carolina Research & Policy Center.
The Charlotte metro had 79 days of poor air quality due to pollution in 2018 — the fifth highest in the state.

That’s 28 fewer days than the metro with the worst air quality in North Carolina: Winston-Salem.
