Though progress in the fight against Covid-19 is being made, with vaccines now available to all U.S. adults, travel restrictions abroad largely remain intact. And American Airlines has again pushed back the start date for several of its long-haul routes still paused at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
American earlier this month made several adjustments to its schedule of long-haul, trans-Atlantic flights this summer, with four routes at Charlotte Douglas among those impacted. The adjustments to its global network are in response to customer demand, according to a spokesman with the airline.
American’s international flights that remain on hold at CLT are to Dublin, Ireland; Madrid, Spain; and Frankfurt and Munich, both in Germany. American now expects to resume service to Dublin, Madrid and Frankfurt on Aug. 17. The Munich route is scheduled to return in October.
