CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More than 2 million North Carolinians are on Medicaid. Changes are coming to the North Carolina insurance program that could impact about 1.6 million of those currently enrolled.

North Carolina Medicaid is shifting to new health plans. Those currently enrolled, need to choose a plan by May 13. The state will select a plan for enrollees who miss the deadline.

If you pick a plan, then change your mind, you will have 90 days to make the change. After 90 days, you will need a special reason for changing plans.
