CHARLOTTE — Did you see a string of lights in the night sky Thursday?
Channel 9 got multiple viewer calls and emails from all over our coverage area about a fleet of Starlink satellites orbiting the Earth.
The spectacle was seen shortly after 9 p.m.
“Appearing as a string of bright lights in the sky, Starlink trains can look rather ‘otherwordly’ and have prompted numerous UFO-sighting reports when they first took to the skies,” space.com states.
There are 4,198 Starlink satellites in orbit, of which 3,542 are operational as of May 31, 2023.
