MOORESVILLE, N.C. — A Concord-based nonprofit organization is relocating its operations to a notable mill redevelopment in Mooresville. The move will greatly improve working conditions after four years in undesirable warehouse space, the founder said.
Circus University, also known as Cirq-U, is moving to Merino Mill. The organization gives classes for children and adults on a variety of circus-style skills and acts, such as unicycling, juggling and several others. It accommodates students with disabilities in its classes.

The move comes after spending four years in its space in downtown Concord. Lori Kelley, ringmaster of Cirq-U, said there is no heating or air conditioning at its current location.
“I was literally faced with finding some place with air conditioning or shutting down,” Kelley said. “Because I couldn’t put my students through another summer.”
