CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Learning virtually inside a motel room is a challenging reality many local students are up against.
Channel 9 has been checking in regularly with Ethiopia Williams and her 9-year-old daughter Haleigha who are living in a motel during the pandemic. The family says they are blessed even though their living situation can be difficult, especially now with virtual learning.

Haleigha’s fourth-grade classroom sits in the corner of their bedroom, and that’s the same story for the hundreds of local students who also call motels their homes.
