Sybil and Bill Godwin now control Paper Skyscraper, but the pair is working with the store’s founders to avoid disrupting its “distinct culture,” according to a news release.
Paper Skyscraper was founded 30 years ago by Tim Hamilton and Ron Wootten. Situated along East Boulevard, the shop offers an eclectic assortment of gifts, from glassware and candles to books and games.
It has racked up accolades locally and nationally for its selection.
The release notes Hamilton and Wootten are remaining in the business as consultants as they hand off day-to-day operations of the store to the new owners — one an art purveyor and the other with a background in retail and financial relationship management.
