Thomas Justice waited anxiously for his wife's Christmas gift to come in the mail.
He installed a doorbell camera on his home last year, and when he checked it this week he was outraged at what he saw.
“When she got to about here, she just threw the package,” said Justice. “I thought she had fallen.”
Justice told Eyewitness News reporter Allison Latos he was amazed that someone would do something like that, especially during the holidays.
Channel 9 learned that other neighbors' home cameras captured the same delivery driver tossing or dropping their packages too.
Two neighbors told Latos they could hear the boxes hit the concrete from inside their homes and some items were broken.
“The whole thing is a sad situation,” said neighbor Jennifer Tankersley.
Channel 9 questioned the United States Postal Service and spokesperson Philip Bongenberger said “The mishandling of packages is unacceptable. We apologize and have reinforced delivery requirements with our carriers."
The postal service would not tell Latos if the delivery driver has faced any disciplinary action.
“They said they were going to terminate the employee, but I said that's not what I'm trying to do. It's Christmas. I just wanted someone to be counseled on the proper way to deliver packages,” said Justice.
