ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police say a man who is accused of hitting a motorcyclist with his truck in Rock Hill last month and then leaving the scene is now in custody.
The hit-and-run happened around 9 p.m. Oct. 25 at the intersection of West Main Street and Woodard Road.
Detectives said Brian Jon Waters hit a Suzuki motorcycle with his Toyota truck, dragging the rider and the motorcycle down the street before taking off.

The motorcyclist, Michael Robinson, was taken to Piedmont Medical Center with serious injuries.
"He was dragged maybe 200 feet and then he was ejected," his mother, Catherine Ingram said. "The bike was caught underneath the truck, and they dragged the bike another 1,000 feet."
Robinson was on his way to his cousin's house, Ingram said.
"He just spent his 21st birthday in the hospital," she said.
Robinson has undergone several surgeries and is still in the hospital.
"It's going to be a long road, long, long road," his mother said.
She has been by his hospital bed every day since the crash.
"He's resting comfortably -- still facing multiple surgeries," Ingram said.
She wants to know how someone could drive away without helping her son.
"Not even knowing if he was alive or if there was something he could have possibly done," Ingram said.

According to police, crime analysts were able to determine the make and model of the truck from evidence at the scene which led them to Waters.
He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury.
"Just to disregard life like that, it's sad," Ingram said.
Police said they tried to serve Waters his warrant several times, but they couldn't find him.
"People do things like this and just keep going. That's a human life. That's my baby. That's my child," Ingram said.
