Report: VP Harris postpones visit to NC due to Debby

RALEIGH, N.C. — Vice President Kamala Harris is postponing her visit to North Carolina this week because of weather concerns, according to WTVD in Raleigh.

The news comes as Tropical Storm Debby’s outer bands began to reach the Tar Heel State on Tuesday. The storm is expected to bring heavy rain and flooding risks to North Carolina.

Harris had planned to hold a rally with her vice presidential pick on Thursday in the Research Triangle area.

The Harris campaign has not announced the date they are rescheduling the stop for, WTVD reports.

This will be her eighth visit to the Tar Heel State this year.

On Monday, the vice presidential candidate to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, announced he would also visit North Carolina.

Vance also plans to visit Raleigh and will give a speech at 9 a.m. He will also deliver remarks that same day in Oakboro at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry.

It will be his first visit to North Carolina since being selected as Trump’s running mate.

Vance’s campaign has not announced any changes to the stop due to the weather forecast.
