LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — As students head back to the classroom in Lancaster County, the district is making good on its promise to enhance security, especially at elementary schools.

Students will notice a special team of volunteers this school year keeping watch over their schools.

Steven Pyler answered the call from Lancaster County Schools that asked retired police officers, veterans and parents to help form a school watch program.

In the video at the top of this web page, South Carolina bureau reporter Tina Terry spoke to the volunteer about why this cause is so important to him.
