VIEWER VIDEO: Beech Mountain home destroyed in overnight fire

BEECH MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Several fire departments had to battle a raging house fire on Beech Mountain in Avery County overnight.

According to ABC affiliate WJHL, the fire started sometime before 4 a.m. at a home on Lazy Lane in the Fox Pointe community of Banner Elk, along Highway 184.

Dozens of firefighters worked to put out the flames, which destroyed the home. According to the fire marshal, the home was a rental property.

Officials do not think anyone was home at the time the fire started and no injuries have been reported.
