HICKORY, N.C. — Surveillance video caught a man stealing Donald Trump presidential campaign signs from a business in Hickory.
Systems Depot sells security systems and cameras and placed some of its own equipment near where signs had been stolen in the past.
The business turned over the video of a person stealing 10 Trump signs over to police.
“This is my free speech and if I want to put a sign up and say I’m for Trump that’s my free speech and I don’t want my rights taken away from me,” said business owner Wade Moose.
Police said they’ve already identified the person in the video, but have not released the name.
Officers are working to recover the signs that were stolen and make the person responsible return them.
