FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — North Carolina veterans were able to share their healthcare concerns and call for change Friday night in Fayetteville.
Staff at a Veteran Affairs hospital hosted a town hall meeting to gather feedback on their service.
Veterans spoke about what they said are rude and disrespectful staff members, problems with non-emergency care access and long wait times.
"And I'm asking you, madam, implement zero tolerance. Period. Across the board. Send a message to those individuals that do not respect us, that cannot show us what we deserve when we come here," a veteran said.
The director apologized to the veterans and had her staff address several complaints.
Another town hall will be held in December.
